Engineering and infrastructure management services company Downer EDI Ltd
(ASX:DOW) has secured over $750 million worth of new contracts.
CEO Geoff Knox says the company has been awarded more than $400 million worth of contracts to deliver both standard and narrow gauge locomotives for coal haulage in NSW and QLD as well as locomotives for the Pilbara.
Downer’s works division has secured more than $160 million worth of contracts in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, and the engineering division has secured around $120 million in contracts for major clients including TransGrid.
The company’s mining division has also signed a $77 million, three year contract to provide blasting services to Felix Resources.
Downer EDI earned $189.38 million for the 12 months to June 30, 2009.
