Ramsay Health Care profit rises 12.8% and CEO retires

Ramsay Health Care (ASX:RHC) has released its 1H FY17 results. Some key points are its:
- core NPAT rose 12.8% to $267.8 million,
- group revenue was up slightly (by 3.5%) to $4.3 billion.
- core EPS up 13% to 128.9 cents
- interim dividend increased by 12.8% to 53 cps.

Out of all its segments (across Australia, Asia, UK and France), Ramsay performed best in Australia. The company’s Australian revenue increased by 8.8% to $2.4 billion – which is more than half of its total revenue earned.

Also, Ramsay’s Managing Director & CEO, Chris Rex, has announced he plans to retire this year, after 9 years in the role. The company is currently on the lookout for a new CEO to replace him.
