The a2 Milk Company (ASX:A2M ) has released its 1H17 results.
The main highlight is that its half-year NPAT skyrocketed by 290% to NZ$39.4 million. This is even higher than its 2016 full-year result – which was NZ$29 million.
The company’s total revenue was NZ$256.1 million – which is an 84% increase over the pcp. And its operating EBITDA surged 243% to NZ$64.1 million.
The company says this result was driven by booming baby formula sales in Australia, New Zealand and China. In fact, A2’s revenue from China shot up 348% while its operating EBITDA jumped 1,021%.
However, in dollar terms most of the company’s earnings are still from the Australia and New Zealand market, where it earned NZ$70.4 million. While its China EBITDA was NZ$13.7 million.
