OceanaGold Corporation (ASX: OGC) has announced its poured its first gold dore bars, totalling 445 ounces, at its Haile Gold mine in South Carolina.
The gold miners says it’s the first gold production from the site in 25 years, and nearly 190 years since gold was first producer there.
OceanaGold says it’s moving closer to putting the newest gold mine in the US, into commercial production in the second quarter of this year.
As a result the miner is advancing its optimisation study of mine, to be completed by mid-2017.
