Primary Health Care Limited (ASX:PRY) has announced its chief executive officer and managing director Peter Gregg has resigned.

It comes after he was served with a court attendance notice by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).

Mr Gregg allegedly breached section 1307(1) of the Corporations Act, during his previous employment at Leighton Holdings Limited. However, Mr Gregg denies the allegations.

Primary Health Care says he will remain in his role until the company has found a suitable replacement.

Primary Health Care posted a net profit $74.7 million at 30 June 2016.
