The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) has ireleased a Statement of Issues, expressing initial concerns about the proposed merger between print businesses PMP Ltd
(ASX:PMP) and IPMG.
The ACCC’s preliminary view is that if two of the largest suppliers of heatset web offset printing merge, it could substantially reduce competition.
This type of printing in particular is the main method for printing catalogues and magazines.
The competition watchdog is accepting feedback about this proposed merger from industry participants until 31 January 2017, and expects to make a final decision on 23 February 2017.
PMP reported a net profit of $185,000 at 30 June 2016.
