Austal Limited
(ASX:ASB) has announced it has landed its sixth new commercial vessel order for 2016.
The shipbuilder has signed a €15.47 million euro contract with FRS Group in Germany for a 56 metre, high speed passenger ferry.
The ship is a new design from Austal’s Australian based design team and will include an optimized hull that will minimize fuel consumption and wake wash.
Construction will commence in early 2017 with delivery scheduled for March 2018.
Austal Limited reported a net loss of $84.2 million at 30 June 2016.
