Qantas Airways Limited
(ASX:QAN) has announced it will commence non-stop flights from Perth to London in March 2018.
The service will use the 787-9 Dreamliner and is expected to take 17 hours in total.
The 14,498 kilometre trip will be the first regular passenger service to directly link Australia and Europe.
Existing domestic terminals at Perth airport will be upgraded to accommodate the new international flight, with existing services to Singapore and Auckland to benefit as well.
Qantas Airways Limited reported a net profit of $1.03 billion at 30 June 2016.
