Creso Pharma Ltd’s (ASX:CPH) subsidiary, Hemp-Industries, has delivered a 700 kilogram shipment of hemp protein to one of the largest bakeries in Slovakia, Pekarne Liptovsky Hradok sro (PLH).

This is Hemp-Industries’ second shipment of hemp protein. Taking into account the first 500-kilogram shipment that Hemp-Industries delivered in mid-August, that is a total of 1.2 tonnes of hemp protein.

Creso Pharma says the hemp protein is used by PLH to produce several top-quality protein bar products which are sold in leading grocery chains such as Tesco and Kaufland.

The company is expecting growing demand for its products from the Slovakian bakery due to the increasing public awareness of the health benefits of hemp seeds, which may be the next big thing in the “superfood” industry.

Creso Pharma also cited research from Global Industry Analysts, which said that the global “superfood” industry is currently worth around US$130 billion, and is expected to grow 20% each year through to the year 2020.
