Global defence contractor, Austal Ltd
(ASX:ASB), says it has delivered its second high speed crew transfer vessel this year.
This vessel is for Swire Pacific Offshore, and is a 57.5 metre, aluminium catamaran constructed in the Philippines.
The 40 knot Offshore Express 57 vessel is called ‘Pacific Kestrel’ – and can safely transport 90 personnel plus cargo to offshore platforms in very rough conditions.
Austal says its newest ship is a highly efficient alternative to fair-weather dependent helicopters.
