Carnegie Wave Energy to become ‘Carnegie Clean Energy’

Company News

Carnegie Wave Energy (ASX:CWE), which owns and developed the patented CETO wave energy technology, is planning to change its name.

The company wants to change its name to Carnegie Clean Energy (ASX:CCE). What prompted this name change? The company’s recent acquisition of a solar and battery microgrid developer called Energy Made Clean.

Carnegie’s managing director, Dr Michael Ottaviano, says the name change better reflects the company’s expanded clean energy interests across wave, solar, battery and microgrids.

The company’s name change, and recent acquisition are currently subject to approval from Carnegie shareholders.

Carnegie Wave Energy reported a net loss of $6.4 million at 30 June 2016.
