Crown Resorts employees detained by Chinese authorities

Crown Resorts Limited (ASX:CWN) has updated the market on media reports stating 18 Crown employees have been detained by Chinese authorities in recent days.

The entertainment giant has confirmed it believes Crown’s Executive Vice President VIP International, Jason O’Connor, is one of the employees in custody.

Crown Resorts has not been able to speak to any of the employees and has indicated it is working closely with the DFAT to urgently make contact and ascertain the welfare of its staff.

The company has stated it is yet to be provided with details on why its employees have been detained.

Crown Resorts posted a net profit of $943.6 million at 30 June 2016.
