Building materials company, Brickworks Ltd (ASX:BKW), says its full-year underlying net profit (after tax) rose 22.3% to $147.1 million.

However, its statutory NPAT rose just 0.1% to $78.2 million. The company says this was due to the impact of certain ‘significant items’ -- including non-cash impairments in Austral Bricks Western Australia and Auswest Timbers.

As for its revenue, that went up by 3.8% to $751 million last financial year.

Brickworks declared a fully franked final dividend of 32 cents per share. This takes the fully franked full year dividend to 48 cents – which is 6.7% higher compared to the previous year.

As for its FY17 outlook, the company says it’s positive, with a full order book and a long pipeline of high margin work in the east coast of Australia. However, in Western Australia, it’s a different story – since that state is facing a decline in building activity.
