Anatara Lifesciences (ASX:ANR) has completed its Target Animal Study for Detach, its lead product for controlling diarrhoea in piglets.

The purpose of the study was to provide detailed safety data on Detach, when administered to piglets at dose rates higher and more frequent that the recommended dose. That is, a test on the effects of accidental overdosing.

The company says Detach was found to be safe – even when piglets were given doses that were 5 times higher than what is recommended.

Anatara says this study will be incorporated into its regulatory approval application with the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA).

Anatara reported a net loss of $724,000 at 30 June 2016.
