The Western Australian government has granted two mining leases to Altura Mining Ltd (ASX:AJM) in relation to the company’s Pilangoora Lithium Project.

The granting of these two mining leases follows the company completing several pre-requisite steps, such as: signing a Native Title Agreement with the Njamal people (the traditional owners of the land) and signing an Access and Compensation Deed with the pastoral lease holders.

The company was also required to transfer an exploration licence from Atlas Operations after an assessment by the Office of State Revenue.

Altura Mining also says it has lodged the Mining Proposal with the WA government, and expects it to be approved by December 2016.

Altura Mining reported a net loss of $2 million at 31 March 2016.
