Lucapa sells Lulo diamonds for $5.8M

The Lucapa Diamond Company Ltd (ASX:LOM) has announced the sale of alluvial diamonds from the Lulo Diamond Project in Angola.

The company’s parcel of 3,642 carats of Lulo diamonds sold for gross proceeds of $5.8 million, at an average sale price of $1,606 per carat.

Lucapa says the sale parcel included a 28.5 carat light pink which is now the largest and most valuable coloured diamond recovered and sold to date.

The company also says diamond production remained ahead of plan in August, following the record monthly recoveries at the Lulo Project in July.

Lucapa reported a net loss of $3.6 million at 31 Decembe r 2015.
