Adelaide Brighton (ASX:ABC) has released its results for the half year ended 30 June 2016.

The construction materials and lime producer said that its revenue rose 1.2% to $686 million.

However, Adelaide Brighton’s net profit after tax was down 6.7% to $77.1 million.

The company declared an interim ordinary dividend of 8.5 cents in the half year ended 30 June 2016. This is a 6.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Adelaide Brighton has also declared a special dividend of 4 cents.

As for what was behind those results, the company says there was higher profitability in concrete, lime and joint ventures, and reduced energy costs. However, cement margins eased because of higher costs and lower demand in the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
