Caltex Australia Ltd (ASX:CTX) has reported that its net profit fell 15% to $318 million in the half year ended 30 June 2016.

This profit figure is well short of the $375 million that it earned in the previous corresponding period.

In addition, Caltex’s sales rose to 7.7 billion litres of transport fuel. But its revenue fell 13% to $8.5 billion. This was, in part, due to lower refining margins at Caltex’s refinery in Lytton, Queensland.

The company declared a fully franked interim dividend of 50c per share in the half year ended 30 June 2016 (which is 3 cents higher than the interim dividend it declared in the year before that).
