Ruralco loses live cattle export licence

Ruralco Holdings Limited (ASX:RHL) has announced one of its live export licences has been cancelled by the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources.
 
The notice of the cancellation came after a number of dairy cattle landing in Japan tested positive to Bovine Johnes Disease.
 
Ruralco has indicated the cattle tested negative prior to departure, and it has commenced a review into procedures within its supply chain.
 
Ruralco has confirmed its other live export business, Frontier International Northern, continues to operate as usual.
 
Ruralco Holdings Limited reported a net profit of $12.71 million at 31 March 2016.
