Mobile commerce company, Mobile Embrace Limited (ASX:MBE) has entered an agreement with Telenor Pakistan, which it says will expand its international direct carrier billing operations.

Telenor is the second largest mobile operator in Pakistan, with over 38 million subscribers.

Mobile Embrace sees Pakistan as a large market opportunity because the number of mobile subscribers greatly outnumbers the number of credit card users.

In particular, the company says there are 133 million mobile subscribers in Pakistan, but only 1.5 million credit card users.

The company says its direct carrier billing operations are now live with 17 mobile operators in 7 countries.

Mobile Embrace reported a net profit of $2.8 million at 31 December 2015.
