Downer JV wins Auckland railway deal

Downer EDI Ltd (ASX:DOW) says the joint venture that it entered with a French civil engineering company has been awarded a City Rail Link deal in New Zealand.

The Downer-Soletanche Bachy joint venture has won a construction contract to build an underground railway line linking Britomart and the Auckland city centre with the western line near Mt Eden.

Downer EDI says this deal is part of a series of recent contract wins worth $460 million.

The company also says over $1 billion in revenue has been secured in New Zealand for the 2017 financial year.

Downer EDI reported a net profit of $72.1 million at 31 December 2015.
