Nearmap Limited (ASX:NEA) has announced commercial imagery from its HyperCamera2 is now available.

The HyperCamera2 capture system was launched in April in the US and has so far been used to capture seven major US cities.

The technology allows Nearmap to capture, process and publish 3D models of ground structures, which are used in a multitude of industries where this type of data is required for planning, assessing and quoting.

Nearmap has pointed to the lower capture costs and efficiency of the new HyperCarmera2 system as strengthening its competitive advantage.

Nearmap Limited reported a net loss of $3.3 million at 31 December 2015.
