Sydney Airport traffic up in May

Sydney Airport Holdings Limited (ASX:SYD) has reported strong passenger traffic growth for May, up 7.8 percent on the corresponding period last year.
 
Driving the results has been a 12.1 percent increase in seat capacity across a number of international carriers.
 
Chinese nationals were the largest foreign contributor of incremental passengers, with new and existing airlines increasing seat capacity across the board. 
 
A number of high profile events in Sydney contributed to 3.9 percent uptick in domestic passenger volumes, including Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, the Sydney Writers’Festival and Vivid. 
 
Sydney Airport Holdings Limited reported a net profit of $281.1 million at 31 December 2015.
