Meridian Energy releases latest operating results

Meridian Energy Limited (ASX:MEZ) has released its operating results for the month ended 31 May 2016.

The company says in the month to 13 June 2016, national hydro storage increased from 104% to 122% of its historical average.

Further, Meridian Energy says its May inflows were 200% of historical average, and that it was the second highest May inflows on record.

However, the company also says that national electricity demand in May was 2.5% lower compared to the same period last year.

Meridian Energy reported a net profit of $97.5 million at 31 December 2015.
