Midday: Aus shares track 0.58% higher at noon

Market Reports

by Carolyn Herbert

The local share market has managed to make its way back into the black this session after three days in negative territory, but it’s not the impressive recovery investors had hoped for. The market opened higher and managed to peak around 0.7 per cent, but it has fallen away slightly at noon and is now tracking 0.58% higher. The healthcare space is once again leading the charge, with stocks like CSL, Resmed and Ramsay tracking higher. We’ve also seen the energy space bounce back today, with Santos making some solid gains of around 3 per cent.

The S&P/ASX 200 index is 31 points up at 5,310. On the futures market the SPI is up 36 points.
