Yowie Group Ltd
(ASX:YOW) has signed a three-year Licensing Agreement for ‘Yo-Kai Watch’, a popular Japanese video game, comic and TV animated series.
This agreement gives Yowie the right to manufacture and distribute two new confectionary products which tie-in with the Yo-Kai Watch brand.
Yowie will manufacture a chocolate candy inclusion product with a surprise collectible inside, as well as a “Chocobar”, which is the favourite candy of the TV show’s main character, Jibanyan.
Under the agreement, Yowie will have licensing rights for the North American market. until 31 December 2018, and be able to market the Japanese brand worldwide.
Yowie reported a net loss of $3.6 million at 31 December 2015.
