Sydney Airport releases April Traffic Performance

Company News

Sydney Airport Limited (ASX:SYD) has announced total traffic through the airport for April 2016 is up 7 percent on April 2015.

Strong international traffic contributed to the growth, with increases from Chinese, USA, Korean and Japanese nationals a big driver.

Solid passenger growth on domestic trunk routes and increased load factors from Qantas and Virgin also helped the local figures, with traffic for April up 5.2 percent on last year.

The company has pointed to increased services from Air Vanuatu and Qantas and a new A380 service from Qatar Airways as key drivers of future passenger growth.

Sydney Airport reported a net profit of $281 million at 31 December 2015.
