Meridian Energy
(ASX:MEZ) has released its monthly operating report for April 2016, highlighting a number of results as being affected by weather conditions.
Warmer than expected temperatures along with lower corporate sales volumes resulted in a decrease in retail sales volumes of 5.6 percent compared to April 2015.
To date this financial year, Meridian’s retail sales volumes remain 0.4 percent higher compared to the corresponding period last year.
Warmer temperatures were also signaled by the company for the 1.9 percent drop in national electricity demand for April 2016, compared to April 2015.
Meridian Energy reported a net profit of $97.5 million at 31 December 2015.
