Air New Zealand Limited settles class action

Air New Zealand Limited (ASX:AIZ) has announced it has agreed to settle a class action compensation claim in the US related to a 2006 civil compensation claim
 
The claim was filed on behalf of several freight forwarders and relates to an alleged conspiracy involving air cargo fuel and security charges between 2000 and 2006. 
 
Air New Zealand is one of a number of global airlines that was named in the claim.
 
The airline has settled for $35 million US dollars, representing 2.8 per cent of the $1.223 billion paid in settlements to date by 28 airlines.
 
Air New Zealand reported a net profit of $317 million for the 6 months to the end of December 2015
