Austal Limited
(ASX:ASB) says it has won a $305 million contract to supply 19 patrol boats to the Commonwealth of Australia.
Austal won the tender which includes sustainment support work for the fleet for at least the next seven years.
Design work will commence immediately with construction work underway in 2017 and the first boat due for delivery by the end of 2018.
The ships will be built in Henderson WA and will secure 120 direct jobs and employ a number of contractors.
Austal reported a net profit of $16.81 million for the six months to the end of December 2015.
