Mighty River Power limited
(ASX:MYT) says it will move to a single brand with the company to trade entirely under the Mercury name by the end of the year.
The company has sold electricity through the retail brand Mercury for many years and also holds a metering business Metrix which will remain a separate brand.
However all other business including the Waikato River hydro system and geothermal stations on the North Island will begin a progressive re-branding later this year.
One-off costs from the brand change will be off-set by long term cost savings from removing duplication and more focus under the Mercury brand.
Mercury River Power reported a net profit of $69.37 million for the six months to the end of December 2015
