Wellard Limited
(ASX:WLD) has welcomed the purpose designed M/V Ocean Shearer to its expanding fleet of livestock vessels.
The new ship immediately increases the cattle exporter’s fleet carrying capacity by 50 per cent.
With a 23,500 square metre carrying capacity, it can transport 20,000 cattle or 75,000 sheep or a combination of both.
The company says it also has a fuel range of around 18,000 miles and one of the highest speeds in the industry.
Wellard reported a net loss of $23.87 million at 31 December 2015.
