Sydney Airport Holdings Limited (ASX:SYD) has announced outstanding traffic performance results for this quarter.

Highlights include total passenger traffic growing 7.6% year to date, and 12-month rolling international passenger growth being 5.9%, well ahead of long term trends.

The airport says that foreign inbound grew 10%, supported by demand, in particular, from Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea.

Sydney Airport also reported strong domestic passenger growth in March, particularly in Sydney, due to the Easter Show drawing large crowds from around the country.

The company also says that Qantas expanded frequencies on their Hong Kong to Sydney route, from 12 weekly to 14 weekly, adding 62,000 more seats on the route.

Sydney Airport reported a net gain of $281.1 million at 31 December 2015.
