Mighty River Power Limited
(ASX:MYT) has announced that the proportion of Mercury Energy residential customers on fixed-price contracts increased to 43% during its first quarter.
The company also reported a 19% lift in hydro generation, and that strong geothermal generation was the result of 98% availability for its geothermal plants for the quarter.
The electricity generator also says that national demand for electricity rose to the highest level for this quarter on record, up 0.5% compared with the same period last year.
The company says that demand has increased for seven consecutive quarters, showing broad-based growth.
Mighty River reported a net gain of $69.37 million at 31 December 2015.
