Chorus records lift in broadband connections

Chorus Limited (ASX:CNU) has recorded an increase in broadband connections by 5,000 lines to 1.23 million in the March quarter.
 
Total fixed line connections decreased by 14,000 lines as consumers continue to shift to fibre and naked lines with demand for broadband continuing to grow. 
 
Chorus said Very High Speed DSL broadband coverage in being increased by an estimated 175,000 premises across New Zealand following recent changes to transmission frequencies.
 
The telecommunications infrastructure company also noted it has finished its rollout work in Waiuku, Queenstown and Roturua ahead of the schedule and these areas are now undergoing final Crown Fibre Holdings.
 
Chorus recorded a net profit of $30.94 million at 31 December 2015.
