Cochlear reports jump in profit

Cochlear Limited (ASX:COH) has provided the market with extracts from its half year report ended 31 December 2015; reiterating a 32 per cent jump in net profit to $94 million.
 
Sales revenue was also up 32 per cent to $581.7 million, as a result of strong growth in the company’s hearing implants business and services business.
 
The company says sales revenue and earnings benefitted from the depreciation of the Australian dollar.
 
Basic earnings per share was up 31 per cent to 164.7 cents per share.
 
The company will pay an interim dividend of 110 cents per share, up 22 per cent on the previous corresponding period.
