Tabcorp Holdings Limited
(ASX:TAH) has said it will fully cooperate with an investigation by the Australian Federal Police in relation to a payment concerning a Cambodian business opportunity.
Tabcorp released the statement in response to various Fairfax Media articles relating to the payment.
The company said Tabcorp explored a business opportunity in relation to the Cambodian sport betting market in 2009. Tabcorp said that at that time, some Asian countries were deregulating sports betting.
The gaming company noted that Tabcorp chose not to pursue the opportunity and the business was never operational.
Tabcorp Holdings recorded a net profit of $81.9 million at 31 December 2015.
