Coal of Africa widens half-year loss

Coal of Africa Limited (ASX:CZA) has reported a net loss of $14.3 million in the six months ending December 2015.
 
This compares with a loss of $0.8 million the previous corresponding period.
 
As of 31 December 2015, the miner holds cash and cash equivalents of $30 million, compared with $17.8 million at 30 June 2015.
 
Moving forward, the company expects to complete the engineering design for its Makhado coking coal project in May. Construction is anticipated to start prior to the end of June.
 
Coal of Africa will not pay a dividend.
