Austal Limited
(ASX:ASB) says it has been awarded a US$14.65 million contract to modify the design of a combat ship commissioned by the US Department of Defence.
Austal had previously been awarded contracts to build ten of the Littoral Combat ships and ten Expeditionary Fast Transport vessels worth US$4.1 billion.
Design changes have been identified during the construction period and Austal will undertake the modifications at its shipyard in Mobile, Alabama.
Austal reported a net profit of $16.8 million for the half year to the end of December 2015.
