Tassal Group Limited
(ASX:TGR) has labelled environmental conditions in Macquarie Harbour on Tasmania’s west coast as sustainable following recent media comments.
The salmon producer said recent media comments attributed to Huon Aquaculture regarding growing conditions did not reflect Tassal’s experience in the region.
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Mark Ryan said that while the west coast had experienced an unseasonably hot and dry summer this season, overall mortalities and growth has both been in line with forecast expectations and long-term strategies.
Mr Ryan said Tassal remain committed to growing salmon sustainably and for the long-term in Macquarie Harbour.
Tassal Group recorded a net profit of $25.29 million at 31 December 2015.
