Santos announces $2.7 billion net loss

Company News

Santos Limited (ASX:STO) has announced a $2.7 billion net loss in its full year results for 2015.

This result includes impairments of $2.8 billion after tax, which the company says were a reflection on the current oil price environment.

Underlying net profit after tax came in at $50 million, which was down 91 per cent on the previous corresponding period.

The company says despite the pressure of a low oil price environment, it has delivered its highest production in seven years.

The company will pay a final dividend of 5 cents per share fully franked, bringing the full year dividend to 20 cents.
