Downer EDI Limited
(ASX:DOW) has reported a slump in net profit for the half year to 31 December 2015.
Profit came in at $72.1 million, a 23.9 per cent decrease on the prior corresponding period.
The company says the result reflects a write off of $13 million in pre-tax bid costs and softness in the company’s resources related businesses.
Total revenue of $3.2 billion was down 1.2 per cent and EBIT was down 20.1 per cent.
The company says competition remains intense and the mining and energy markets very challenging.
