Auckland International Airport Limited’s
(ASX:AIA) international passengers were the highest ever for a single month, recording almost 850,000 for December 2015.
The result was driven by capacity increases on Asian and North American routes which increased visitor arrivals over summer, alongside festive travel.
The week ending 20 December 2015 was the busiest week ever at Auckland Airport, with 200,000 international passengers.
Meanwhile domestic passengers increased 10.8 percent in December 2015, also marking a new record. The company cited new Jetstar domestic routes.
Auckland International Airport recorded a net profit of $197.89 million at 30 June 2015.
