WAM reported 225% increase in profit

WAM Capital Limited (ASX:WAM) has announced a record interim profit of $103 million up a whopping 225 per cent after tax.
 
WAM says the investment portfolio rose by 26 per cent over 12 months, outperforming the All Ordinaries by 22 per cent. 
 
The strong performance was attributed to investments in companies such as Smartgroup, A2 Milk Company and Blackmores all of which have seen more than double in the past 12 months. 
 
WAM has increased its fully franked dividend to 7.25 cents per share.
