Lucapa finds 133 carat diamond

Company News

Lucapa Diamond Company Limited (ASX:LOM) says they have recovered a 133 carat diamond from the Lulo Diamond project in Angola, their largest diamond to date.

It’s a lucky find with Lucapa saying that due to heavy rain restricting access to planned mining areas during the December quarter earth moving equipment was moved to test higher lying areas resulting in the discovery of the large diamond and three other specials.

The large diamond is not of high quality however the smaller stones include a 29 carat and 11 carat D colour gems. Lucapa says the finds are indications of a large alluvial diamond field.

Lucapa reported a net loss of $2.26 million for the year ended 30th June 2015.
