Structural wins Boeing/FAA approval

Structural Monitoring Systems (ASX:SMN) says its ground-breaking CVM Technology has been approved by both Boeing and the Federal Aviation Administration.

The technology application monitors civilian aircraft for cracking and related structural fatigue and is an alternative maintenance programme to conventional inspections.

It has been installed and tested in a Boeing 737 operated by Delta Airlines earlier this week and with its new approvals becomes the only commercially-approved technology of its type.

Structural Monitoring Systems reported a net loss of $928,000 for the 2015 financial year.
