Telstra signs MoU with NBN

Company News

Telstra Corporation Limited (ASX:TLS) and NBN have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that Telstra will support the NBN network build in areas currently covered by the HFC footprint.

There will be early work to support the build of the network while the contract is being negotiated, meanwhile two other new contracts for network and maintenance services will also commence in early 2016.

The 3 year service contracts should add around $80 million in revenue during the first year with plenty of room for growth as the NBN network extends.

Telstra reported a net profit of $4.3 billion for the 2015 financial year.
