Crown denies speculation of joint bid

Company News

Crown Resorts Limited (ASX:CWN) has told the ASX it is unaware of any proposal for a possible joint bid for Crown, which has been the subject of much media speculation of late.

There have been rumours James Packer may be interested in selling some of the company’s assets to private equity bidders, as a result of stagnation in Macau operations.

Crown’s share price jumped more than 14 per cent yesterday from $10.65 to $12.14, the biggest increase in 7 years.

The company informed the ASX that it was in compliance with its disclosure obligations under the ASX listing rules.

Crown Resorts reported a net profit of $378.3 million at 30 June 2015.
