Oz Minerals Limited
(ASX:OZL) has successfully concluded its Hydromet demonstration plant trial after 19 weeks of operation.
About 150 tonnes of copper concentrate from Prominent Hill was treated in two separate parcels of differing mineralogical quality.
The first parcel achieved an upgrade to 53 to 55 per cent copper, while the second parcel was upgraded to 58 to 60 per cent copper.
The company says the Hydromet trial surpassed all its expectations and says high quality concentrates will be in demand by the market, particularly in a time of declining copper grades.
Oz Minerals reported a net profit of $51.8 million at 30 June 2015.
