Healthscope to issue $8.2 million in shares

Healthscope Limited (ASX:HSO) has announced it has issued 2.99 million shares at an issue price of $2.72 per share as part of the consideration for the acquisition of The Hunter Valley Private Hospital.
 
The total consideration for the acquisition of the hospital is $71.3 million, comprising $63.1 million in cash proceeds and $8.2 million in the form of shares. 
 
The Hunter Valley Private Hospital is an 83 bed hospital located in Shortland, New South Wales.
 
Healthscope says the acquisition will complement its existing portfolio and now operates 46 hospitals across Australia. 
 
Healthscope reported a net profit of $140.84 million at 30 June.
